ARCHIVES & GENEALOGY LIBRARIAN

Belleville, IL Public Library is accepting applications for a
full-time Archives & Genealogy Librarian. Ability to make public
presentations and conduct training. Ability to function independently.
Ability to work weekends and evening shifts. An interest in applying
new technology to archival practice. The ability to read German is a
plus. Requires a Masters in Library Science (MLS) and a minimum of two
years experience in working in genealogy and archives. Active pursuit
of a MLS or an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience will be considered. Pay rate: $15.17/hour. City residency is

Sr. Analyst, Business Analysis, Competitive Intelligence

Major Accountabilities:
The focused collection, analysis and dissemination of traditional and non-traditional competitor activities, specifically as it relates to technology in the Payment Processing industry, to various levels of personnel within the company. This function allows the organization to remain current on competitors’ technology capabilities both individually as well as collectively and assists the organization in sizing up the threat of competition and devising ways to effectively compete.

This position will lead the competitive intelligence effort at MasterCard Global Technology and Operations (GTO) by providing strategic insights to management on current/future competitors. This position is specifically responsible for:

Data Collection and Classification- includes daily scanning and periodic review of secondary sources (i.e., websites, company collateral, industry news, analyst reports, competitor speeches, etc); maintenance of pertinent information; maintain library of competitive information

Conduct Primary Research – interview third parties, customers, the MasterCard sales team and other internal subject matter experts; mystery shop our competitors; interview new hires; attend key industry events

Analysis and Implication- analyze data gathered in order to turn information into actionable and executable intelligence. Actual deliverables include, but are not limited to:
* Competitor profiles
* Technology product comparisons
* SWOT analyses
* Ad hoc investigations
* Provide strategies on how to sell against the competition
* Assist in developing market strategies

Dissemination of Information – includes a variety of output formats, i.e., verbal presentations, alerts, comparison product grids, strategic profiles to senior management, possibly create a periodic newsletter, store information on internal portals

Purchase fee-based information as needed (Tower Group, Lexis Nexis, Fuld & Company, etc.)

Implementation of innovative competitive research and reporting techniques to keep competitive intelligence relevant to the company.

Experience Required:
Extensive experience in both the Payment Processing industry and in Information Technology. Familiarity with MasterCard’s products a plus. Possesses strong interest in research and gathering information as well as strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and distill information into actionable intelligence. Experience in evaluating business trends, assessing market conditions and interpreting strategy formulation. Must have demonstrated noteworthy critical thinking and analysis skills. Good communicator both orally and in written format. A proven self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
