Assistant Director of the Library
Cottey College, an independent two-year liberal arts college for women, invites applications for full-time assistant director of the Ross Memorial Library. Joins the director and three paraprofessionals, serving a close-knit campus community and managing a collection of over 50,000 titles, with start date negotiable. Reports to the director and assists with management of all library operations. Focuses on identifying the instructional needs of students and faculty and promoting the progressive development of information competencies and research skills. Develops Web-based library instructional materials including online tutorials. Supports campus and distance education classes. Works some hours at the circulation/reference desk and some weekend or night hours.Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program required. Proficiency in information resources and technologies. Ability to work positively and productively with diverse constituencies. Experience with reference, library instruction, and multimedia presentations at an academic library. Dedication to women’s education and the dynamic role of the collegiate library.
