Job Title: Supervisory Preservation Specialist
Organization: NARA, Nat’l Personnel Records Ctr., Archival Programs
Location: St, Louis, Missouri

Description: Works with the Preservation Officer to
accomplish a range of projects relating to the preservation and
reproduction of archival records. Serves as a technical specialist on a
variety of reproduction and reformatting options, including digital
imaging. Identifies appropriate reproduction and reformatting options
through assessing record condition and undertaking cost-benefit
analysis; provides technical assistance and guidance for quality
control; identifies and evaluates criteria for the specifications of
reformatting contracts, products or equipment and evaluates
reformatting contract proposals; monitors in-house work quality and
undertakes work measurement or other systems studies; and develops
production standards and procedures. Serves as first-level supervisor
for the reformatting program, including such tasks as overseeing work
schedules, recruiting, undertaking performance evaluations and
disciplinary actions, resolving employee complaints, etc.
