Reference Librarian (Part-Time) – Pius XII Memorial Library

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a temporary, part-time Reference Librarian for 15-20 hours per week beginning immediately and continuing through the 2007-2008 academic year.  For information about Pius XII Memorial Library, please see http://www.slu.edu/libraries/pius/.

 

Duties: Provide reference service during some late afternoons, week nights, and weekends to a diverse user population at a busy reference desk.  Provide general reference and technical assistance in the use of the library catalog, online databases, and other electronic and print resources.  Perform other reference responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications: M.L.S. (or equivalent) from ALA accredited program. Late afternoon, weekend and evening availability.  Strong service orientation.  Excellent communication skills.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team as needed.

 

Preferences:  Prior academic library reference experience.

 

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.  (Minimum: $15.00/hour; no benefits)
